6EQUJ5 is a little EP composed of 2 pieces inspired by the famous Wow! Signal—the mysterious narrowband radio transmission detected by the Big Ear telescope in 1977.
Each composition draws directly from the data, codes, and algorithmic ratios recorded during that event
By translating this information into musical parameters, I constructed an interpretive system in which the original signal becomes the conceptual framework for sound generation, a systems art approach—allowing patterns, chance, and coded inputs to dictate the structure and timbre of the resulting works.
In doing so, I attempted to synthesise the sensation of an anomaly: an acoustic simulation of an unknown origin, rendered through controlled randomness and machine logic. The result is a sonic abstraction that sits somewhere between data and emotion, speculation and signal, order and noise
